History Stroll through Maffeo Sutton Park

On the morning of Saturday, October 7, 2023, dozens of people joined in  the Nanaimo Historical Society’s leisurely stroll around Maffeo Sutton Park.  Ted Lord,  society director and Dave Bodaly,  Snuneymuxw Cultural Guide,  began with the Snuneymuxw history at this site, and continued  with some of the marine and industrial historical events of the area.  You can watch the video of the tour below.

This was the third walking tour offered by the Nanaimo Historical Society in two years, following a walking tour of Departure Bay in October 2022 (details here)  and a Buttertubs Marsh walking tour in May of 2023 (view  here )
